Ans. Though he was, Brilliant scientist, Griffin was rather a lawless person. His landlord disliked him and tried to eject him. In revenge Griffin set fire to the house. In the London Store, to escape without being seen, he callously attacked the shopkeeper from behind, after which he robbed him of all the money. He stole money from the desk of the clergyman. Thus, we can say that he was rather a lawless person.

Ans. Matilda is a pretty young woman who wishes to enjoy all delicacies and luxuries. She gives much value to her dreams She over-looks the realitics of life. That is why, she is always unhappy because her dreams can't be true. The course of the Loisel's life changed due to the necklace. After replacing the lost necklace with a new one, they had to repay all the money that they had borrowed to buy the new necklace. All the story moves around her.

Question: Draw a brief character sketch of Bholi? 

Ans. Bholi's real name was Sulekha. She fell from a cot when she was ten months old. This caused her brain damaged and she remained a backward child. She stammered also. An attack of smallpox left packmarks all over her face and body and she became ugly. At the age of seven she was sent to school. A lady teacher taught and encouraged her. She became bold, confident and self respecting.

Ans. Bishamber Nath had a big shop, a house and a good amount of money in his bank. He was a middle aged widower with grown up children. He sent a marriage proposal for Bholi. He did not know that she was ugly and lacked sense. He demanded no dowry. When he saw Bholi, he demanded 5000 Rs. He went back without marrying Bholi. He was very greedy. Bholi refused to marry him.

Ans. Noodle know more about Earthlings and their activities. He is intelligent, clever and diplomatic. He rectifies the follies of Think-Tank not directly but in a very subtle manner as not to hurt him. He is aware that Think-Tank likes flattery. He pleases Think Tank with his humble attitude.

Ans Think-Tank is a living being from Mars who has a huge and egg-shaped head. He wears a long robe decorated with stars and circles. He considers himself to be the most powerful and intelligent creature in the whole universe. He thinks himself to be the ruler of Mars and commands the Mars space control. He owns a crew that has Captain Omega, Lieutenant Iota and Sergeant Oop and apprentice Noodle. As he is from Mars, he considers books as communication sandwitches. He likes to be praised because of his intelligence and authority. He smacks his mirror as it delays in praising him. He boasts of his intelligence and power but decides to evacuate his planet and escape as soon as he gets to know that the people from Earth had planned to take control of Mars.
