Q. 3. Give a character-sketch of Ausable.

Ans. Ausable is a secret agent. He is very fat and looks like a common man. He can speak French and German passably. He mixes American accent with french and German. He came to Paris from Boston twenty years ago. He shows his presence of mind in dealing with his rival secret agent. Max. He immediately coins a story of balcony and assures him that there is a balcony. As there is knock at the door, he tells Max that there are police and suggests him to hide in the balcony. In a hurry. Max jumps onto the balcony which does not exist. In this way, he gets rid of his rival.
